The “TEP” online store is the official representative of VKF “Balakkom” LLC — the leader of the Ukrainian textile industry market and a brand known for the quality of its products in the CIS countries and far abroad. Since its foundation in 1996, the company has firmly occupied a niche in the production of home textiles.

Initially, the client turned to us for marketing services (SEO, targeted and contextual advertising). Our SEO specialist sent the editing to the development department and our further work started from this point. We found many bugs left by the previous programmers, as well as highlighted a number of design edits. Having clearly shown the client what points should be fixed for the good operation of the website, we offered our services. After the briefing, the client agreed with the proposals, and we started designing the website and fixing all errors.

Work on the project

Based on the tasks set and the errors found, we concluded that there will be a lot of work on this project. Among the main ones is the solution of the previous and emerging problems.

There were difficulties with site optimization. The previous developer removed half of the functionality of OpenCart, applied his custom solutions that worsened the website’s performance. We understood the code, commented it and tried to shorten it as much as possible.

We debugged the operation of Bitrix 24 and 1C.

At first, the hosting told us one piece of information about payment and switching to another payment rate, the next day the technical support started saying something completely different and reneging on their words. Also, they did not help with errors that occurred on the hosting side, all the time they said “wait, we will do everything soon”, as a result, we had to wait for a long time, and because of this, we recommended the client to switch to another hosting. So that even in our absence, they could write to technical support, which will help solve the client’s problem.

One day the “ordering” function on the website stopped working. When we figured it out, we realized that someone had disabled the payment method, and we quickly resolved this issue.

We corrected small errors which we could see on the layout.

Result

As a result of all the editing and testing, we realized that a lot of time was spent for the very related problems. Custom code, transferring the website through the hosting payment rate, communication with the technical support of the hosting and with the developers — all this took most of the time.

But this did not prevent us from keeping our spirits up and doing the best for our client. Also, our team agreed to carry out all visible work on the website at night, so that there would be fewer visitors to the website, because at that time advertising was running.

Conclusions

THIS CASE WAS NOT EASY FOR US, BUT BECAUSE OF SUCH LESSONS WE AND OUR CLIENTS BECOME BETTER. ACCORDING TO THE RESULTS OF THE WORK, WE CORRECTED ALL THE ERRORS, PERFECTLY HONED THE WORK OF ALL ACCOMPANYING SERVICES AND MADE A NICE REDESIGN.
